Scope:
Initial inspection to a platform drainage channel revealed that water ingress had undermined the compacted earth fill beneath the platform, and created a risk of a major embankment slip to the rear of the station which endangered station accomodation buildings adjacent to the platform.
Works included:
- Replacement of 33m of drainage channel
- Relaying of platform paving to eliminate trip hazards
- Grout injection to stabilise earth beneath the platforms
- Shuttering to arch faces, installation of 188 resin anchors
- Placement of steel reinforcement
- Infilling of 2 brick arches with 9 cubic meters of concrete
- Finishing to arch faces
- Reprofiling of embankments.
