Scope:

Initial inspection to a platform drainage channel revealed that water ingress had undermined the compacted earth fill beneath the platform, and created a risk of a major embankment slip to the rear of the station which endangered station accomodation buildings adjacent to the platform.


Works included:

  • Replacement of 33m of drainage channel
  • Relaying of platform paving to eliminate trip hazards
  • Grout injection to stabilise earth beneath the platforms
  • Shuttering to arch faces, installation of 188 resin anchors
  • Placement of steel reinforcement
  • Infilling of 2 brick arches with 9 cubic meters of concrete
  • Finishing to arch faces
  • Reprofiling of embankments.
