Scope:
This project involved civils works as part of the West Coast Main Line Upgrade, including interfaces with sections of the Aidrie to Bathgate Route.
Babcock Rail were the main contractor for civils works relating to the major signaling upgrades being undertaken by Westinghouse.
The main works comprised of the realignment and replacing of cable trough routes to facilitate the installation of new fibre optic and copper cables relating to the signaling upgrade.
Additional works included the installation of new signaling gantries, train driver walkways and the installation of signal telephone posts.
The project was delivered in a number of stages with stages 1 and 2 working within a T3 Possession during the Christmas period of 2007.
Works continued through 2008 on a call off basis, with resources supplied to reflect the peaks and troughs of the client’s contract.
