Providing relevant and appropriate training aligned to the company’s competency requirements is the prime objective of the dedicated and professional Training team.
Annual performance reviews are conducted to identify training needs and individual development plans, thus, ensuring company potential and realizing ‘Best In Class’ performance.
Long-term development of the company’s work-force is a key goal; this includes a Management Programme that has incorporated MSC’s, MBA’s and HNC’s and a two-year Management Training Programme, with an annual intake of five.
The successful Graduates achieve the Institute of Leadership Management (ILM) level 3 Award and Certificate. The Group realises that it has to invest heavily in its people in order to provide the quality of service our clients demand - particularly within trade skill-sets.
The company offers a two-year Apprenticeship Programme that focuses on providing a rounded construction education. Apprentices attend college where they complete a Construction Diploma, this includes an NVQ in General Construction and an NCO level 2 in Water Services.
This is supplemented and enhanced by ‘on site’ training with qualified and experienced personnel. Many of our apprentices have won a variety of awards from CECA and the National Construction College.
The training team works closely with external bodies, such as the Government, Industry Associations and Clients in the development of sector specific qualifications, funding and recruitment into the industry.
It has developed close relationships with Universities to develop industry specific University programmes, this includes Southern Water’s Excellence with Industry (EWI) in conjunction with Brighton University.
