Dermot joined the family business in 1970 and became Joint Managing Director at the age of 32, with brother Kevin, in 1984 following the death of his father, founder Michael J.Clancy. During their tenure as Joint MDs the business grew from £2million to over £200 million annual turnover. Dermot is married with five children. He is a keen golfer and horseman. As a shareholder he also maintains an interest in London Irish Rugby Club. He is a Governor of the Beacon School and a Director of the Thames Valley Groundworks Trust.
