There is a lot of information available on remote working and managing. Google searches will give you thousands of links. We have reviewed these packages from LinkedIn, and though they are not tailored for us, they have some very useful messages for us at this time. These vary in length and our guidance on using them is to work your way through a course, but don’t aim to complete it in a single session unless you want to:
Leading at a Distance
This course dives into the basics of remote leadership, such as shown working remotely changes interpersonal dynamics. There are tips for getting results at a distance including how to provide remote coaching and feedback as well as how to build trust and more.
Being an effective Team Member
Working remotely can force collaborative teams apart. This course describes the characteristics of great team members, and has tips about how to increase your self awareness, demonstrate that you’re a reliable teammate, approach teamwork more collaboratively, and more.
Managing Stress for Positive Change
Stress is often viewed in purely negative terms, but it’s possible to use stress to fuel positive change. This course discusses what stress is, how you can train yourself to use stress in more effective ways; and what managers can do to reduce employee stress when an organisation experiences difficult times.
These courses complement the other messages in this guide document and will be supported by additional information from the People and Health & Safety teams.
