Appointment of Matt Cannon as Chief Executive Officer
We are pleased to announce that Matt Cannon will become Chief Executive of The Clancy Group’s operating companies, Clancy Docwra and Clancy Developments, as well as Clancy Plant on 1 February 2019.
Following a 30-year career at Clancy Docwra, and nearly 20 on our board, Seamus Keogh will be stepping down as Chief Executive of Clancy Docwra on 31 January 2019.
Matt’s appointment marks a new stage in our business’ journey as we celebrate our 60th anniversary. Matt represents the third generation of the Clancy family to take the helm at the group. He first joined the business in 2004, working across key clients including Thames Water, Anglian Water and South East Water before becoming Chief Operating Officer in 2016.
Matt has built an in‐depth understanding of our business and has a clear vision for our future.
Matt will be supported by our experienced senior team. Following the recent appointments of our new Chief Finance Officer Nick Blaber and Chief Commercial Officer Jon Loveday, we are pleased to also welcome our first Non-Executive Director, Ian Gray, to our board.
Drawing on his long expertise in advising businesses in a series of senior roles, Ian will work with us to support our growth.
Together, these changes pave the way for the next generation in The Clancy Group’s story, ensuring we have the team and experience in place to support our vital work building and maintaining the UK’s national infrastructure.
As we look forward, it is an important time for us to reflect on that story so far. Our independent business structure and direct employment model sets us apart from our competitors and our services remain in high demand, as we enjoy a record secured order book of £1.2 billion.
We are extremely grateful to Seamus for his huge contribution to this success, which has ensured we are well‐positioned for the future. He will be working with Matt and the board, at Harefield and across the business, to ensure a smooth transition and handover over the coming months.
