Clancy awarded RoSPA Gold accreditation for health and safety

Clancy’s continued commitment to excellence in health and safety has been recognised with a Gold Award from the Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

Reflecting Clancy’s achievements in driving a successful culture of safe working, the evidence-based award has been secured on the back of a strong performance by the business over 2021.

The RoSPA Gold Award is the highest accolade awarded by the Society in its work to drive standards and a culture of safety since its founding 60 years ago. The global scheme, which now spans 50 countries and with a reach of over seven million employees, recognises organisations that are world leaders in health and safety practice, going the extra mile in consistently ensuring and enforcing high standards in the workplace.

James Hiom, Director of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality at Clancy, comments:
“As one of the largest family-owned construction companies in the UK, the health, safety and wellbeing of our teams and the communities we work in is of paramount importance.

“As a business we are constantly investing in training and technology to make sure our people get home safely at the end of every working day. In the field, a combination of new tools like trenchless technology and suction excavation are ensuring we can work even more safely and efficiently, while the success of our Clancy Academy – which sees us track and maintain 18,000 training records across our team – gives us the visibility and capability to roll out the latest initiatives and best practice.

“This award is recognition of the culture of continual improvement we have fostered at Clancy, and I’m proud of our people up and down the country who made this possible.”
