Celebrating outstanding innovation in the UK water industry

Colleagues from our South and West Region have been nominated as finalists in the “Health & Safety Initiative of the Year“ category in the Water Industry Achievement Awards (WIAA). The WIAA celebrate and reward outstanding innovation across the UK water industry.

Our nomination centres on the creation of a suite of video Toolbox Talks and slideshows which have been trialled across the region and subsequently launched nationwide. This innovation ensures consistent delivery of important safety messages, assists learning retention over and above traditional delivery methods and improves efficiency by allowing remote access using portable/ mobile devices.

We have seen a marked improvement in worker engagement and initial feedback has been enthusiastic; teams have commented that the themes are much more memorable and safer working practices are already being adopted.

The winner will be announced on Tuesday 23 May in Birmingham.
