H&S Winners at Highways England Awards 2017

We are very proud to announce that the Clancy Group has recently been awarded both “Excellence in Road User Safety Achievement Award” and the “Chairman’s Award” from Highways England at their Health, Safety and Wellbeing awards ceremony in London, March 7th.

Highways England’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing awards are designed to recognise, celebrate and share achievements in health and safety performance across the industry from suppliers to employees. The scheme aims to annually award particular hard work in this area to teams, projects and companies who make a significant contribution to their mission- that no one should be harmed when travelling or working on the strategic road network.

Jim O’Sullivan, Chief Executive of Highways England explained:

“It’s well known that safety is our first imperative and I am delighted that these awards highlight that. The camera system, for example, will ultimately save lives.

The submissions show how innovative ways of thinking will make things safer for those working on and using our strategic road network and these awards also highlight the mental health and wellbeing of staff is as important as feeling safe in the workplace. I look forward to seeing more achievements in years to come.
